This chapter has finished the arc about Hashirama and Madara as children. We learned that Madara went against Hashirama because Hashirama was from the Senju clan, as silly as it sounds. I am a little disappointed with that conclusion. Madara seemed so intelligent, and in a blink of an eye he had reduced himself into all-for-vengeance type. I don’t like it at all.
Right after saying that he lost his belief into the idea of a shinobi village, Madara said to his father that the fight will be perilous, because Hashirama is stronger than him. I thought that was a trick to stop the fight. But after that Madara really did go and fight Hashirama. I don’t know why he changed to fast and radically.
After this point Madara started to develop into a villain. Another turning point seemed the death of Izuna. Madara blamed Hashirama for that death. Now, I wonder why.
It seems quite obvious that it was Tobirama who killed Izuna with his technique “Hiraishin Giri”, or “Hiraishingiri” or “Flying Thunder God Slash”. But well, we might say that Madara viewed Tobirama and Hashirama as the same thing. That would explain why he did not seek revenge against Tobirama. He did not even acknowledge him as a person.
After the death of Izuna Madara acquire Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. Wait, aren’t we going to discuss how he got the normal Mangekyo Sharingan in the first place? No? Ok.
From this moment, if I remember correctly, Madara started to lose his popularity among Uchiha. And here, a few pages ahead, he lies on the ground at the feet of Senju clansmen.
We know that Hashirama will refuse. Still, that is an interesting moment.
Now, a couple of words about the translation. This week Manga panda did a poor job translating the chapter. If you read it online, I recommend the translation by Manga Stream. Just look at the same line, translated by both of them.
The second version make so much more sense. And I can bring more of such differently translated lines from the chapter, if I want to.
Now, the last couple of things. While we are talking only about Hashirama and Madara, we forget that Tobirama got a lot of character development in this arc. Though he is not very likable.
For some reason I found that panel kind of funny:
I have no idea what Kishimoto wants to show in the next chapter. It can’t be only the final Hashirama vs Madara fight. We will see. Till the next time (^_^)/
