Naruto Shippuden, episode 306, pretty pictures

When I saw the preview of this episode last week I knew that I have nothing exciting to look forward to. Flashback fillers are notoriously bad. Naruto has a lot of flashbacks during the canon storyline, so adding more is not a best thing to do in the first place.

Coming to this particular episode, it was above my expectations, though they were really low. The plot was still awful, but as a comedy relief it was good enough. But since writing about jokes seems to be a dumb thing, we will talk about writing problems and such instead ^_^

Hinata and Neji

So, let’s look at the plot. Neji overdid it with training Hinata and she lost the use of her eyes for a while. Neji learned that there is a plant, that is growing in some very dangerous valley and he goes there and Naruto and Sakura go with him. The thing wasn’t as well planned as one would expect from Neji or Sakura, though.

Knowing that obsession with eyepatches, I think we can consider blindfolded Hinata to be a fanservice

Another complaints is that Kakashi’s Lightning Blade should not have been in the episode . You saw that, right? He just jumped, used Raikiri to show off and make his appearance flashier and canceled the jutsu. That is not right at all.

Sakura agrees with me

Another interesting part was when they took Sasuke out to see fireworks. If memory serves, instead of going to see fireworks with Naruto, Sasuke should be lying in his bed until that famous moment when he and Naruto went at each other with all they’ve got.

Actually, they are just sad because of the mess all those flashbacks make.

But all what I said does not make the episode very bad or anything. Never mind the story, we can just look at the screen and admire the animation work, for what it is worth ^_^ Here is a ton of screenshots that I took from the episode:

Hope you liked the pictures. And here is the preview for the next episode:

As you can see, the next episode is also a filler. And 308th episode is a filler, and 309th and 310th, from what I know. But let’s be brave and try to get through it. Till the next time (^_^)/

  1. I like some fillers in Naruto but all in all, at this point in the series, I just want story on how the battle is going on and not flash backs, at least not full episodes or more of them.

    • Sure, some fillers are quite good, though it always depends on your taste =) I think that once they are done with the current set of fillers, they will give us a lot of manga-based episodes in a row. I can’t see where they will possibly be able to insert a filler arc in the future. And they know that it will get harder to put in fillers, so they make as many of them as possible, while they can.

  2. This whole episode had Neji and Hinata heartwarming moments and was centered on Neji and Hinata and yet you only post some insignificant pictures with Naruto and Sakura…Quite sad actually.

Also, Neji would put himself in danger for Hinata, since he, you know, loves her.
