Naruto Shippuden, episode 310

That episode ended the Tatewaki arc. It was a really good filler, and if all the fillers were as good, I probably would have regretted skipping them in the past.

This episode started with team 10 trying to carry away prince Shu and Naruto going on impostering him (impostering now a word).

I wonder how long transformation jutsu holds. Not long enough to get some sleep, it seems.

All in all, I would say Naruto did a really good job pretending to be Shu. Considering that he has no idea about manners and such. Also, he did a good job escaping the castle, even though Tatewaki caught him.

Btw, it is strange that Naruto didn’t learn how to fight with katana. It is a common weapon, after all.

The biggest out of place moment in this episode happened after Tatewaki caught Naruto. Instead of taking actions to get Shu back he told Naruto that it is all ok, since it will lead to peace. “Samurai loyalty is to peace”. That is just so wrong. Samurai loyalty is to his lord and that is it. If you have no lord, you are a ronin, and your loyalty is to money. No need to invent pointless lies.

The other bad moments were the one when Shu ran off from Ino and Choji (what kind of ninja can’t even catch a boy?… -.- ) and when Shikamaru let Shu go around the town, which was stupid and pointless. And close to the end of the episode Yamato “killed” a puppet y stubbing it with a kunai in the head. Puppets are not alive, darn it, how can you make such mistakes?.. You can’t kill it and it is pointless to stub it, you can only destroy it to the point where the puppet master won’t be able to use it properly.

Just take him where you should take him and be done with it -.-

That was dumb

But let’s go back to the good part of the episode. There were Deidara and Sasori in here,  and they almost didn’t act out of character. Doesn’t that sound good to you? It sure does for me ^_^

That reminds me of the start of the Shippuden, which was one of the best part of this anime, in my opinion.

Naruto Shippuden Episode 310 The Castle Falls Deidara

Well, he did act ooc, just a little. I guess writers for this filler read too many fanfics for Sasori and Deidara

Now, about the animation. As usually, filler means gore. See for yourself:

Right

Also, the animation was very nice, even better than unsuall.

I don’t know, I just like how they draw scenes for this episode. Not all of them, but many.

At the end of the episode Tatewaki learns that Naruto and Co saved the prince and the princess and he melts away, as he has no regrets.

That is it for this two episodes long arc. Next episode is not technically a filler, it is based on the manga. But it has nothing to do with the original story. It should be fun, though. Here is the preview:

Hope you liked this episode and let’s be patient and wait for the end of the fillers. Yeah >.< See you next time (^_^)/

  1. Hi there! About the katana statement at the beginning of this article I don’t know whether you’re genuinely curious about why Naruto doesn’t use a katana. Kishimoto said that there were a lot of samurai manga coming out at the time, so Naruto using a katana would have screamed samurai. He wanted to make his comic stand apart from those so instead he drew Naruto with invented weapons and paintbrushes.

Even Sasuke the swordfighter doesn’t use a katana. He uses a straight-bladed sword that is partially invented, but it resembles a type of straight-bladed sword that is older than katana.

    • Thanks =) Yeah, not using swords to make the manga stand alone makes sense from the sales point of view. Though, when you think of it from withing the story point of view, it is a little strange that most of the ninja don’t use swords, or bows for that matter. But that is not a big deal.
