Gintama. Shirogane no Tamashii-hen 2 Episode 14

Leave it to Gintama to throw a random curveball at you out of nowhere. Gintama season 8 has officially ended today. I repeat, Gintama season 8 has ended. Gintoki spent the entire second half of this episode explaining to us why this season had to be ended so abruptly and then complaining about Sorachi and the anime staff.

Let us start from the beginning. Here are a couple of nice pictures of Gintoki’s torture.

It would have been awesome if someone actually skipped the previous episode. They would have been treated to this nice visual of Takasugi hanging from the ceiling wearing a diaper. It would have been totally worth skipping an episode. Torture in Yoshiwara included getting molested by a bunch of old ladies. Gintoki, after going through that trauma twice, gave up on all his worldly desires and became a saint. Everyone lived happily ever after.

Gintama Season 8 Episode 14 (6)

Just kidding. A diaper wearing saint is way more disturbing than a lazy samurai with a permanent perm

Seita became a delinquent. Not that it is weird, considering the fact that he was made to work in an adult toy shop when he was little. Here is one of the best piece of news we learned in this episode. Hinowa can walk now. She still needs a walking stick but I am really glad she can use her legs again. On the other hand, her taking so long to heal acts as a cruel reminder of the torture she has been through.

Gintoki used the sno… mole he got from Tama to hide his identity and get away from the lady monsters. I am glad that he is still carrying that device around. It would have been pretty stupid to throw away something that convenient.

Gintama Season 8 Episode 14 (7)

I was seriously hoping he would run into Takasugi. That would have been a sight to behold. I am sure Takasugi would have tried to strangle him for walking around the town half-naked in his get-up.

Gintoki later ran into a bunch of thugs who ganged up on him. Shinpachi, who happened to be passing by, jumped in to save him.

Gintama Season 8 Episode 14 (8)

We got to see Shinpachi acting cool for 10 seconds before Gintoki screamed ‘CUT‘ and proceeded to hold an emergency broadcast. To be honest, until this point, I had no idea that the show was ending and this was the last episode of this season.

Gintama Season 8 Episode 14 (9)

I think Gintoki simply hated having to see Shinpachi act cool

In the next half of the episode, Gintoki held a trial to judge the culprits of the Gintama Ending Scam.

Gintama Season 8 Episode 14 (10)

Hijikata got arrested for dragging the Shinsengumi Farewell arc too long and Hasegawa got arrested for not being homeless anymore.

However, Gintoki being the fair judge that he is, dragged the main culprit responsible for this whole mess to court – The gorilla mangaka.

Gintama Season 8 Episode 14 (13)

I really wonder why Sorachi wants to be a cheese bun so badly

Sorachi promised to come back with Gintama Final: End of Sky soon. He blatantly ripped the title off of High & Low Movie 2 – End of Sky. It would be nice if the Gintama staff isn’t forced to change the title.

Gintama Season 8 Episode 14 (14)

I love how all the Gintama characters badmouth Sorachi all the time

To be honest, even though I am sad that this season has ended so abruptly, I am perfectly happy with the final episode. I love the fact that Gintama managed to throw a huge surprise at us out of nowhere. This episode has a nice dose of the usual Gintama comedy and I can’t think of a better way to end a Gintama season. I hope the next season starts airing soon.

See you next time ^^/

  1. It is too sad that the season ended, I’ll miss the Monday posts >.</

I dunno who Seita is, be the punk outfit suits him, he should keep it ^^b Shinpachi looks great too, though I knew they would just make fun of him. Poor guy -.-'

    • I was surprised with how sudden the ending was but I am pretty content with this season. It has a lot of Gintama styled jokes and random moments.
Maybe you should pick an ongoing anime and write weekly posts this time :3

The punk outfit does suit Seita. This was how he looked like before https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/gintama/images/e/e1/Seita_mug.png/revision/latest?cb=20110126182810
So I didn’t expect him to go and become a delinquent.

Shinpachi being made fun of isn’t that bad :P I feel worse about Hasegawa being homeless.
On the other hand, Shinpachi kept complaining about how that was a great scene in the manga and Gintoki ruined it. So maybe the manga did let him act cool for once. That is something to look forward to.

      • No way -.-/ Don’t know if even HxH can motivate me to write weekly posts ^^’ And it wouldn’t be interesting since you don’t follow it :P I’d rather keep writing weird nonsense, as I do now ~(^. ^)~

Oh yeah, the punk look is definitely better.

        (-.-)
